COVID-19 VACCINE
We are busy making the necessary arrangements in preparation of receiving stock of the Covid-19 vaccine.
As yet, we have no date of when we should expect the vaccine, but please be assured we are ready and eager to start protecting our patients against this nasty and dangerous virus.
Once the vaccine is received we will start contacting patients IN ORDER OF PRIORITY as per the guidelines published by the NHS Vaccination programme.
Please make sure that we have your up to date telephone number and address. You can submit any changes to your details via our website or app.
Upcoming closures for Churchfields Medical Practice
Tuesday 9 February 2021 from 12 noon
The Practice will re-open on the following working day at 8 am. For urgent treatment, please call 111.
This is a reminder that all patients who book an appointment at the surgery are asked to disclose any symptoms of new, continuous cough, loss of taste or smell and/or high temperature which could indicate Coronavirus infection. Failure to do so may put staff as well as other, vulnerable patients at risk of contracting the virus. If you have booked an appointment and have any of the above symptoms DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY and contact 111 or call Churchfields Medical Practice on 01159781231.
THANK YOU!
A huge thank you to all our patients for helping us to make Flu Saturday 2020 a big success.
With the Coronavirus restrictions, we had to plan our flu day differently this year. We are delighted with the great feedback and lovely comments from our patients who attended.
Visit to the practice
If attending Churchfields Medical Practice for an appointment or any other reason, please wear a face mask (not with the vent), scarf, bandana or something similar which covers your nose and mouth.
Please come as close to your appointment time as possible as you may be asked to wait in the car/outside if it's more than 5 mins.
Thank you for helping us to all stay safe.
NHS Dentistry
Access to NHS Dentistry is currently limited during the pandemic as all dentists have been asked to stop all routine “face-to-face” dental care.
However, if you need urgent dental care, help is at hand:
CALL your dental practice:
They will give you advice over the telephone and make arrangements for you if you need to be seen.
If you don’t have a dentist, find your nearest dentist and CALL them. You can search for your nearest dentist at: https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-dentist

Emotional and psychological support
For those in need of emotional and psychological support at this difficult and challenging time, Trent PTS is continuing to provide a service for all patients registered with a Greater Nottingham GP. This is NHS funded. If you would like psychological support anybody aged 18 years or over can self-refer. Please go to our website to complete a referral and we will be in contact to arrange your first appointment.
As we continue to accept new referrals we are now offering our services by phone, webcam, using online text-based therapies or through online support packages so as to maintain social distancing.

Changes to the appointments booking service
Following developments of the Coronavirus pandemic and in the interest of patients and staff safety we have made the difficult decision to suspend the booking of all routine appointments for the time being.
We will be operating a telephone triage system and will be still offering telephone, video consultations and emergency appointments.
There will also be limited access to the practice by keeping the main doors closed. People attending the surgery for an appointment will need to press the intercom for access.
There will be a letter box where you need to put your prescriptions requests. If you normally collect it from the surgery, please use the intercom to advise the receptionist which pharmacy you'd like to collect it from when it's ready.
These decisions have been made following advice from Public Health England. Thank you for your understanding.
NHS app
We are pleased to say that our surgery is now live on the NHS app. Please follow the simple instruction to set it up.
You can book all non-urgent GP appointments, telephone consultations and some nurses appointments (smears, removal of sutures/clips,diet advice).
