Routine Appointments

To book a routine GP appointment please phone the surgery on 0115 978 1231 or call in to the medical practice. You can book a routine appointment for a GP up to 4 weeks ahead (subject to change).

The practice offers online appointment booking for telephone with GP. We need to see some ID (preferable photo ID) and can then register you for SystmOnline. You can access this service from either the home page of this website or via the app. 

Your GP or the reception team may offer you a telephone consultation instead of a face to face appointment. The doctors are often able to assist you in this way, saving you the time and effort it takes to come to the surgery. If you think that a telephone appointment might be right for you, please ask for one when you book.

The practice also offers bookings for GP+ which is an extended access appointments. The service offers appointments for various clinicians from 2pm – 6pm on weekdays and 10am – 2pm on weekends. 

Urgent Appointments

If you have an urgent problem please phone the surgery on 0115 978 1231 before 11:00 a.m if possible.  The receptionist will ask you for the nature of your call to be able to signpost you to the right service. You may be offered an appointment in the minor illness clinic on the day or you will be asked to leave your phone number for someone to call you back. This will usually be within couple of hours depending on the volume of calls. Your needs will be assessed and you will be offered advice or a suitable appointment. 

Pharmacy Support

There are a number of minor illnesses that your local pharmacy can help you to manage. This is often easier and faster than contacting us for an appointment. If you pay for your prescriptions, the medications required for minor illness are usually cheaper than the prescription charge. If you don’t pay for prescriptions, there is a scheme called Pharmacy First, under which you can get treatment without charge. You can find out more about Pharmacy First here.

We also have two Practice Pharmacists who are able to do medication reviews and deal with other queries. You can book their appointments up to two weeks in advance (subject to change).
